What IF you already have everything you need?👀

What IF you already have everything you need?👀

I have this urge to take another course, certifying in more things, always thinking I need to know MORE in order to be good enough 🎓

It happens to me in vet med: I should take a course in imaging. I should refresh my soft tissue surgery knowledge. I should read up on the more frequent intern medicine situations. I should take an ECC certificate. And so on.

And now, in coaching, all these other modalities pop up the more I get into it: Hypnotherapy, tapping, neuroscience, not to talk about the 1000 books I should really read… 📕📗 📓

Of course the more we study and learn, the better we will become. But we will never be able to learn EVERYTHING. So you want to decide ahead of time when you’re “good enough”, and anything from there is just an added bonus.

How about RIGHT NOW? What if you already have everything you need, right now?

You don’t need to know everything. You just need to:

  • Know where your limits are so you can ask for help or referral
  • Know where you can find the information you need
  • Be humble enough to say “I don’t know - but I can find out”
  • Be thorough and go through the basics each and every time
  • Be willing to learn from your mistakes and be open to feedback
  • Be constantly curious and not assume anything

Funny enough this applies both to my veterinary work and my coaching practice.

I’m not as good a vet nor coach as I’ll be in another 10 years.

But right now I have everything I need to make a huge difference in a pet's health or a human client’s quality of life.

In which area are you telling yourself you’re not good enough and “need to study more”? How does this affect your confidence? WHEN will you be “good enough” 🧐?
